Here Comes Summer!

I can't believe our school year is coming to a close.  What a year it has been!  We've learned about the early Maryland settlers, the Revolutionary War, the beginnings of our nation, and the Civil War.  We've investigated light, the solar system, magneticism, classification, changing landforms, fossils, and electicity.
We've reflected upon our reading of a variety of genres, and learned from each other's interpretations in our literature circles.  We've written personal narratives, creative stories, plays, poems, persuassive letters, essays, and a research report.  We've even created Powerpoint presentations!  We've developed as mathematicians as we've worked with solid and plane figures, angles, coordinate grids, expressions and equations, fractions, decimals, muliplication and, everyone's favorite, long division. Students should be very proud of all they've accomplished in fourth grade.

I hope all students will read daily.  This will maintain or improve their current reading level, and can provide hours of entertainment!  Students can continue in their learning all summer- to get them started, here's a link to a variety of great interactives:

I hope everyone has a wonderful summer, full of fun and special memories!  See you in August!
